An educational component of the project is linking local schools with the compost- making and gardening processes.  Students may use small composting units to study the biology, chemistry and ecology of the process.  They mayuse the compost to grow gardens at school or help their neighbors create community gardens as a stepping stone in neighborhood redevelopment.
